The Team of Hope Ghana Announces Free Surgical Outreach in Sandema and Fumbisi for November 2026

Team of Hope Ghana is set to bring free surgical services to residents of the Builsa North and Builsa South districts as part of its end-of-year surgical outreach scheduled for November 16–20, 2026.

The five-day medical outreach will take place at the Builsa North Municipal Hospital in Sandema and the Builsa South District Hospital in Fumbisi, providing an opportunity for residents who require surgical care to access treatment at no cost.

The initiative forms part of the organisation’s ongoing commitment to restoring hope and saving lives by improving access to quality surgical healthcare in underserved communities.

Hernias, Hydroceles, Fibroids Among Conditions to Be Treated

According to information released by Team of Hope Ghana, the outreach will cover several surgical conditions, including hernias, hydroceles, fibroids, breast lumps and lipomas, among other conditions.

The programme is expected to offer relief to patients who may have struggled to access the necessary surgical treatment due to financial constraints or other barriers to healthcare.

Residents of Sandema, Fumbisi and surrounding communities who suspect they have any of the listed conditions are encouraged to take advantage of the initiative by presenting themselves for screening and assessment at the designated health facilities.

NHIS Card Required for Booking

Team of Hope Ghana has indicated that only patients with a valid National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) card will be booked for surgery during the outreach.

The organisation has also advised prospective patients to come early for screening and follow the booking procedures at the participating hospitals.

Bookings will begin at the various facilities, although prospective patients are encouraged to seek further information from the designated coordinators regarding screening and registration arrangements.

Team of Hope Ghana Marks 10 Years of Impact

The November outreach comes as Team of Hope Ghana celebrates a decade of providing free surgical care and supporting communities across Ghana.

The organisation marks its 10th anniversary in 2026, having begun its mission of restoring hope and saving lives in 2016. The end-of-year programme will serve as part of the anniversary celebrations, recognising the contributions of partners, healthcare professionals, volunteers and communities that have supported its work over the years.

Under the theme of compassion and lasting impact, the organisation has expressed appreciation to its partners and supporters for their continued commitment to improving access to surgical healthcare.
